The new Libellula.BEND enables configuration and off-line programming of press brake machines, ensuring a significant reduction of their downtime.

The new Libellula.BEND epitomizes Libellula’s zero training philosophy: thanks to its design architecture as well as clear and intuitive interface, programming is fast, easy and may be entrusted even to less experienced staff with no risk for the final result.

The operator is continuously assisted machine setup, calculation of the optimal bending sequence, positioning of backgauges, etc. Advantages: reduced machining times, improved productivity in the workshop, errors eliminated.

No more machine downtime for bend programming

The software for bending require normally the testing of machine, causing:

  1. Waste of material: the test piece or pieces shall then be discarded
  2. Waste of time: the machine is engaged for testing, rather than being operational

Thanks to the offline programming of Libellula.BEND it is possible to simulate the process in 3d view, without wasting material and leaving the machine free to produce: all the operations in process remain normally active, as well as the productivity and compliance with deliveries order are observed.

The offline programming allows you to discover and avoid potential production problems before the workpiece is engaged on the operation, reducing further the waste of material and time.

Preparation for unfolding:

  • Import 3D and unfolding or import 2D and assignment of two-dimensional bending lines to recreate 3D model and subsequent unfolding
  • Unfolding of the workpiece, considering the tool warehouse (punches/dies)
  • Data search for bending experience tables thanks to guided machine tests
  • 2D model export to the cutting software Libellula.CUT for the creation of the cutting icon with layers already configured (tracing, cutting, bending lines)
  • Wide range of already existing 3d machine models or Importable 3D machine model or ability to create a 3D model of the machine in a few steps within the software
  • Wide range of tools (punches, dies) already present in the software (divided by manufacturer) or possibility to import a custom tool only through the import of a DXF

Bending process:

  • Search for automatic bending sequence by checking possible collisions and optimizing the choice, according to various parameters (rotation, tilting, displacement)
  • Automatic tooling of the stations respecting the availability of the tools
  • Post Processor available for a wide range of machine models
  • Report with the bending sequences useful to the operator
